Just a short stop-by to say, “Hi!”
I’ve had a bustling week. My hand healing is coming along with some simple, yet challenging for me, physio exercises. I can still only type one-handed which, I must say, drives me crazy! However, I’m using this time to catch up on my reading. This week I dived into some Biblical geography, learning about the ancient area of Aram, with a particular focus on the Kingdom of Geshur. You may recall that two of David’s children, Absolom and Tamar, were the grandchildren of the king of Geshur on their mother’s side. My love for genealogy entices me to understand places and people. I’m actually leaning towards focusing my studies on the exciting (for me) world of Biblical genealogies! I’m actually not joking. Most people skip the genealogy sections of the Bible… I’m drawn towards them. There’s nothing like a good “begat” reading.
Although I did get lost in some good articles, I had a chance to start a word posting which will be ready, God willing, next week. We’ll be looking at one of the many names of YHWH, the Most High… Elyon! Here’s a little teaser… a psalm that is encouraging, especially if you’re feeling down or discouraged:
Psalm 57:1-3b
Be gracious to me, God, be gracious to me, for my soul takes refuge in You; and in the shadow of Your wings I will take refuge until destruction passes by.
I will cry to God Most High [l-Elohim Elyohn לֵֽאלֹהִ֣ים עֶלְי֑וֹן], to God who accomplishes all things for me. He will send from heaven and save me; He rebukes the one who tramples upon me. Selah
I hope that will carry you over until a fuller treatment of the word is ready next week. As always, I encourage you to read the Bible… open it up, dive in, be inspired! Or maybe you’ll open it up, dive in and get confused. That’s okay too. Just keep at it, pray for discernment, ask questions, and search for answers.
Finally, a shout-out to Grace, my eldest, who graduated on Saturday with a BA in Psychology from Crandall University in Moncton, New Brunswick. We are incredibly proud of you! Your plans to put your faith, your education, and your dreams together in service to people with impairments and health limitations is inspiring!

Hi Sarah,
Congratulations to you and Grace on her graduation from Crandall University. (She looks so much like you Sarah!)
Oh oh oh I hear the frustration in typing with one hand yet having much to say! Way to go to make the most of your time in reading, continuing to learn- you are such a naturally curious student! I hope your hand heals up and continues to grow stronger.
Blessings, Ann
