On the morning of Tuesday February 27th this “not so little anymore” blog hit ONE MILLION views. In the grand scheme of internet views that’s only a tiny droplet in the big worldwide bucket… but that little droplet is the ministry I’ve been assigned to do, and I’m immensely delighted at the success this project has obtained. Who would have thought that a blog about a compilation of faith-based literature, in an ancient Semitic language, would have any type of regular readership?
What I mean to say is… who reads this stuff?!
Well, apparently you do!
And so I say thank you to YOU. Thank you for reading and supporting this ministry. Thank you for diving into your Bible and letting hebrewwordlessons give you a refreshed insight into this delightful and impactful thing we call “Scripture”. Thank you for your comments, questions, kind words, and prayers… and your patience and forgiveness when I don’t respond as quickly as I should!
One question I’ve been asked a few times is this: who are you and what do you do?
For those of you who don’t know, my name is Sarah. I’m a Mom. I’m a Widow. I’m an East Coast Canadian. I work in an academic library at a University setting. I’m the vice-President of my Provincial Genealogical Society and a member of the Atlantic Society for Biblical Equality. I’m also a Medievalist who loves cheese, my cats, and my kids (but not necessarily in that order).
I am also, after a 25 year hiatus, a student, working towards my Doctorate in Biblical Studies. This is my greatest joy… studying the Bible which allows me to get to know my greatest love: YHWH/Yeshua/and the Spirit that binds us together.
The truth is, I’m a self-professed Bible nerd, but anyone who claims that status must be very careful to not be like the Bible nerds of Yeshua’s (Jesus’) day. They were looking for the wrong thing in Scriptures:
John 5:39-40, 45-47
[Jesus:] You examine the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; but it is those very Scriptures that testify about Me; and yet you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life…
…Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father; the one who accuses you is Moses, in whom you have put your hope. For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”
The Bible is an incredibly complex and unique text, full of a vast array of characters and time periods, but at the core of it all is Yeshua. It all points to Him. He’s the cornerstone and the pivot-point of the whole story… the One who fulfills God’s plan and brings Salvation to all the earth.
Now whether you prefer to call Him Yeshua or Ιησούς (Greek), Ісус (Ukranian) or 예수 (Korean), يَسُوع (Arabic) or Jesus (English), it really doesn’t matter. They are all one and the same, just in a different language. It doesn’t matter what you call Him, as long as you do call on Him. Besides, it’s not what the name sounds like that’s important, it’s what the name means.
If Yeshua came to fulfill God’s plan of salvation, wouldn’t it be great if His name actually meant Salvation?!
Why yes it would… and so it does!
So this week I encourage you to check out one of the earliest postings on this blog, which dropped when there was less than 800 views (a far cry from a million)…
SALVATION
Many of you have told me that every year you do a full reading of the Bible, from Genesis to the Revelation. That is an admirable and worthwhile endeavor, but maybe it’s something you shouldn’t be doing every year. I’m not saying don’t read your Bible, but what I am saying is… maybe it’s time to slow down. You may find that a slow deliberate read, with prayer and study, will open your ears and eyes to God’s gentle whisper for you.
My deepest desire is to pass on my passion for reading the Bible slowly and intentionally. I pray that you will be inspired to take such a wonder-filled deep dive into the Biblical text that you can’t get enough of it.
After a million views I can safely say, I’m just getting started. God has plans for every single one of us… and I can’t wait to find out what’s coming next!

Thank You Sarah for all your hard work, and dedication to sharing the wonderful, matchless Word of God with great flavor. 0ne of my favorite Word lessons is on “Generations” Toledot. I Thank God that He works through you to write this Blog so generations can learn and and give their hearts to Him who opens their eyes to observe His magnificent ways
