This is the 421st posting on Hebrew Word Lessons. It’s been a joy to work on this blog for the past eight years. I’ve been blessed by so many of your kind and encouraging words.
One of the lovely things has been finding out that at least a dozen books have referenced HebrewWordLessons, six of them published in 2025! As a thank you I thought I’d give a shout out to each of these books, starting with a chapter written by eminent Harvard Divinity professor, Tracey E. Hicks, in a book about the abduction and lynching of fouteen year old Emmett Louis Till in 1955:
“If These Waters Could Talk: Emmett Till and the Terrors of Diaspora Waters” by Tracey E. Hucks (p.104). This is a chapter in the book, “Open Casket: Philosophical Meditations on the Lynching of Emmett Till”, edited by George Yancy and A. Todd Franklin. The chapter references the posting Heart: Lev. Unfortunately the link listed in the bibliography is incorrect and anyone typing in the address will get a note that says “Oops! That page can’t be found”. The proper address is: https://hebrewwordlessons.com/2019/02/10/lev-the-heart-of-who-you-are/

Keep in mind, I have not read any of these books so this is not an endorsement, it’s merely an acknowledgement. The thoughts within these books do not necessarily reflect my own, but I do thank each of these authors for taking time to read and reflect on Hebrew Word Lessons blog postings, just as I thank all of you for doing the same. I will always maintain that I’m the one who gets the most out of these posts, but it’s nice to know someone else gets something out of them too.
