Folks, thank you for being so patient with this blog. I haven’t been able to post a new word the last few weeks as I have stepped up to be a part-time lay preacher to fill in since the pastor of our church has retired. Working full time in an academic library, preparing messages and trying to get school work done has taken up significant time in my week.
However, for the last few days I’ve been on vacation. A friend of mine has been visiting from Edmonton, Alberta. We’ve enjoyed meandering around Prince Edward Island and on Friday we took a fun road trip to New Brunswick… the land of my ancestors! We visited one of the oldest cemetery’s in the Maritimes, the Acadian Loyalist Cemetery near Smithtown, New Brunswick where many of my Loyalist grandparents are buried. We also visited my aunt who lives in the family farm where my Dad grew up. It was fun showing my friend the place that brings such warm and happy memories for me. We enjoyed a lovely walk through the back fields and I shared family stories and legends from my childhood. Here are a few pictures of our mini-vacation…

Next week I’ll post the first new word in awhile. We’ll look at the Hebrew word for friend… in honour of my visiting friend Natasha, who has been my faith sister, my soundboard, my pillar of strength, and (as Anne of Green Gables would say) my kindred spirit for many years!
Until then, I’m attaching two videos of my more recent sermons for you to view, if you’re interested:
God’s Courtroom: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7BYTGNnphA&t=9s (notes here).

I hope they will be a blessing to you.
Shalom, dear friends! Have a great week!
Next week: FRIEND
